Heart-Lung Machines & Other Capital Products

The BMU 40 blood monitoring unit is an inline monitoring device for continuous measurement of vital blood parameters during extracorporeal circulation. The measuring values are oxygen partial pressure (pO2) and temperature (TArt) on the arterial side as well as oxygen saturation (SO2), hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Hct), and temperature (TVen) again on the venous side. The values are displayed on a 10.4" touch screen monitor, offering enough space for a clear arrangement of measuring values, display, and control elements.

Due to a unique barcode calibration system in the BMU 40, time-consuming and costly calibration procedures using calibration gases belong to the past. In order to minimize any measuring tolerances while the heart-lung machine is in use, the calibration data of the BMU 40 sensors and the BMU 40 cells are pre-set by Maquet and encoded in a label. This label is read in directly before use, using a barcode scanner integrated into the BMU 40. This feature in conjunction with the latest sensor technology allows for excellent measuring precision.

Innovative sensor technology ensures optimized blood flow properties for maximum measuring precision
